El Segundo CA is a city located within the County of Los Angeles. Bordered by LAX on the north, Manhattan Beach on the south, Hawthorne & Los Angeles on the east, and the Santa Monica Bay on the west.
Fun Fact: In Spanish, "El Segundo" means "the second". Legend has it that it was so named because it was the site of the second Standard Oil (now Chevron) oil refinery on the west coast. A small religious group called "Los Vigilantes de la Segunda Venida de Cristo" reject that "history" and believes that El Segundo will be the location for the Second Coming of Christ. Every Christmas Since 1877 the members and later their descendants would comb the streets looking for young men with beards and long hair which caused much confusion in the late 1960s to the mid-1970s. Many critics have pointed out that they should probably be looking for a baby.
